Online Marketing Secrets, Part 2 - The Power of Personal Branding

                         Hopefully you have already read Online Marketing Secret #1: The Products of Home Based Businesses. This series will build upon itself and if you are considering entering the industry, you should read this series in order.
Secret #2: Personal Branding
You do not, and I repeat, DO NOT, want to buy or own a duplicated website. Many of the home based business out there want to sucker you into a system where you are going to get a duplicated website when you sign up. They say it is part of an "automated" or "turn-key" system and you will start to salivate thinking about all of the free money you are going to make. It is common sense that you have to work to earn money... sorry to break it to you, but you don't get free money. You are going to just be another needle in the haystack and it will be impossible to differentiate yourself from everyone else selling the same product.
I will not buy from a general website where I can't get a hold of the person hosting the site and invariably making a profit from me, and hopefully you won't either. It is human nature to want to talk to someone to ensure that you are making a wise decision before you purchase said service or product. You usually have to put a sizable investment down to get into the business, so as smart people we need to research and talk to someone before we make our decision. Automated websites do not give you this pleasure and that is why so many people fail in this industry.
To counteract this you need to stand out and have people identify with you. You do this by something called PERSONAL BRANDING. You want to own your website and brand yourself within it. You want to have your prospects see your face, hear your voice, connect with you so they feel reassured before they buy from you. When people are searching for your business, your website will stand head and shoulders above the rest because your website is different. People can see you are not a creepy guy and that other people actually like you (if done right).
If you go to my personal website at the bottom of this article you will notice that I have videos of myself all over it. I want you to see me and identify with who I am. I even leave you a phone number to get a hold of me and ask any question you want before you start. Brand yourself and you will see sales.
